Scouting Report 6/26/20

Things are still fairly quite this week on the insect front, a few fleahoppers are showing up in a handful of fields that have begun to square. With more fields beginning to square each week now is the time to begin keeping a closer eye on these guys. Fortunately their numbers have been very low and mostly concentrated along pastures. They are moving out of these pastures as these weeds continue to dry down and they look for something a little greener to feed on. A handful of aphids can be found scattered around the area, but no more so than what we generally see this time of the year. I do have one location in Upton county that has higher numbers I’m am following up on but fortunately has pretty good beneficial numbers as well. Deer and rabbit feeding is steadily increasing all across the area. As a whole it is in the usual areas that we tend to see it first. Without some significant rain soon we can expect to see it get worse.
